Actor Keanu Reeves Just Put 70 Percent of His Matrix Movie Salary Where His Mouth Is

We talk a lot about what scumbags the Hollywood elite are.

And mostly, that’s true.

But every once in a while, a good apple pops up from the rotten bunch, and in this case, it’s Matrix star, Keanu Reeves.

Even though his movie sucked and is getting reamed by critics and audiences alike, Keanu is still making something really good come out of it.

The actor, who reportedly made some $45 million off the movie, just donated a whopping $35 million of it to cancer research.

Good for him, and good for a lot of sick people who will benefit from his generosity.

The New York Post reported that Keanu Reeves donated a huge chunk of his earnings from the original “The Matrix” movie to cancer research, a new report claims.

Reeves, 57, was reportedly paid $10 million upfront for the 1999 sci-fi flick, before earning a further $35 million when the movie became a box office blockbuster.

According to Lad Bible, the actor donated 70% of the money — a whopping $31.5 million — to leukemia research.

The cause was near and dear to Reeves’ heart, as his younger sister, Kim, had been battling the disease for eight years at the time he made the donation.

Kim was diagnosed with the blood cancer in 1991, and spent a decade in and out of treatment before finally entering remission in 2001.

Reeves has continued to give money to research in the years after Kim was cured, even creating his own cancer fund.

Now, THIS is what actors and superstar athletes should be doing with their power and money. Helping people. Not dividing the country with their warped politics and failed progressive ideology.
