CNN’s Ana Navarro Promotes Huge Lie That Donald Trump Was Elected Illegitimately In 2016

When asked about the attack on the United States Capitol on Jan. 6, which critics like herself blamed on Trump’s claim that he had won the 2020 election, Ana Navarro railed against the former president and the Republican Party – all while The View guest co-host said that Trump was illegitimately elected president in 2016.

Navarro said during The View on Tuesday that “there are some things that should transcend partisanship and politics,” and that “a breach of the United States Capitol, an attack on our democratic principles and institutions should be one of those things,” adding that “I really blame Republicans at the top for capitulating to Trump.” The View has returned to remote mode due to the Omicron variant of the coronavirus, which has affected the hosts.

Then she went on to say, “I blame Trump for maintaining this climate of falsehoods and conspiracy theories, refusing to admit defeat, pushing and promoting what occurred, the Big Lie, and what happened on January 6,” she said. “He has responsibility, and I’m not the only one who believes this.”

Navarro then read a statement from House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, who condemned Trump’s participation in the atrocity that occurred on January 6.

On the House floor, seven days after the incident, he said, “The president bears responsibility for Wednesday’s attack on Congress by mob rioters.” “When he realized what was happening, he should have criticized the crowd right away.” President Trump must take urgent action in light of these revelations.”

McCarthy was attacked by Navarro for his re-adoption of Trump. He stopped before stating, “ring.” “That same Kevin McCarthy was at Mar-a-Lago kissing Trump’s,” Navarro stated before adding, “ring.”

“And we’ve seen Republican after Republican who were startled on January 6 and demanded an inquiry, the facts, as well as a response and action from Trump. We’ve seen them submit to Trump because they want to keep their seats in Congress, and because they’re prioritizing their personal political interests above democracy and the defense of the United States’ institution of a free and fair election.”

On top of that, Navarro was hypocritical, having complained about Trump’s Big Lie while also disputing the legitimacy of another lawful election result:

According to the findings of a special counsel investigation conducted by former FBI Director Robert Mueller, the Trump campaign did not coordinate with Russia to influence in that year’s election.

Although the latest Washington Post-University of Maryland poll found Biden to have been legitimately elected to the White House, co-host Sunny Hostin noted that “58 percent of Republicans, your party, which you’re still a part of,” believe that Biden was not legitimately elected to the White House despite the audits. Although investigations in a half dozen states have refuted, you know, all of those charges of voting fraud, your party, with 58 percent of the vote, the majority, continues to believe that. So, what is the solution to this problem?”

“When we get back,” remarked Joy Behar, co-host of the show.

It looked like Navarro was responding to Hostin’s remark by urging voters to elect more Republicans, such as Reps. Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) (R-IL)

“Don’t say anything. Don’t say anything. “Please don’t say anything,” Behar interrupted. “Please save it for the next part.” We’ll be back in a minute.”
