Nobody has talked about the Oscars this much in about a decade.
But thanks to the “Will Smith/Chris Rock” slap, everyone’s talking about them again.
However, that’s not exactly good news for the Oscars, because more people watched the video of the “slap” than the actual Oscars.
And that’s because we have the sh*ttiest, most “woke” and politically stupid celebrities ever, and most of America hates them.
The last time awards shows were any good was when Ricky Gervais hosted The Golden Globes, and that was because all he did was make fun of and mock the elites all night.
So, it was only natural after the “slap dustup” that people harkened back to the good ol’ days when Ricky was a host for celebrity shindigs like this.
He saw a tweet online about it and responded with what he’d have said at the 2022 Oscars.
The New York Post reported that after Will Smith infamously smacked Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars, social media debated whether the incident would’ve happened had another comic hosted the event. One name that came up frequently was comedian Ricky Gervais, who responded by teasing his proposed Oscars speech in a series of tweets with thousands of likes.
“I’d start with ‘Hello,’” wrote the 60-year-old creator of “The Office,” who has MCed the Golden Globes five times, but never the Academy Awards.
The comic continued, “I hope this show helps cheer up the ordinary people watching at home. If you’re unemployed for example, take some comfort in the fact that even if you had a job, your salary probably wouldn’t be as much as the goody bag all the actors have just been given.”
This is also a great time to remind everyone of the legendary last time Ricky hosted The Golden Globes and the brutal verbal beat down he delivered to Hollywood.
Watch:
I'd start with "Hello. I hope this show helps cheer up the ordinary people watching at home. If you’re unemployed for example, take some comfort in the fact that even if you had a job, your salary probably wouldn't be as much as the goody bag all the actors have just been given."

The reason people like Ricky Gervais is because he’s a lot like President Trump.
He says it like it is, doesn’t hold back, has a genuine affection for the working class, and detests the elites.
And I’d bet a million bucks that if Ricky had said that “GI Jane” joke about Jada Pinkett Smith, Will Smith wouldn’t have slapped him.
