Smollett Tells The World “I Am Innocent, And I am Not Suicidal,” As He Was Led Away To Jail

Accused of staging a hate crime in Chicago, Jussie Smollett was sentenced on Thursday to 150 days in Cook County jail and 30 months of probation. He was also ordered to pay $120,006, plus $12,000 in costs, as well as a $25,000 fine. As he was being led away to jail, the actor cried repeatedly, “I am innocent, and I am not suicidal.” In his ruling, Judge Linn stated that Smollett was a “charlatan” who had pretended to be a victim of a hate crime.
