Far-Left French President Defeats Upstart Conservative Challenger Again

Far-left leader Emmanuel Macron is on the verge of defeating far-right leader Marine Le Pen in the French presidential election on a pro-business, pro-European Union platform, thereby reinforcing the bloc through its biggest security crisis in decades. Macron is projected to win more than 57% of the vote in Sunday’s runoff, compared to 42% for Le Pen, according to forecasts from France’s five major pollsters.
