Johnny Depp won the lawsuit against Amber Heard. Yes, even though the jury found they both “defamed” one another, they awarded Johnny the most, money and thus he wins.
A Virginia jury ruled on Wednesday that actor Amber Heard defamed her ex-husband, actor Johnny Depp, when she wrote a 2018 op-ed in The Washington Post describing herself as “a public figure representing domestic abuse,” The Associated Press reports. The jury also found that Heard had been defamed by one of Depp’s lawyers when he called her abuse allegations a hoax. Depp was awarded $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million dollars in punitive damages with Heard receiving $2 million in compensatory damages and no money for punitive damages, according to CNN.
Johnny got a lot more than Amber … clear victory for Team Depp.
Amber Heard actually shocked trial experts when she released this statement after the trial.
They said that she “defamed” Depp all over again, in the statement, and he could actually sue her for it… again.
The legal analysts just said they can’t believe Heard actually released this statement and say it’s almost as defamatory as the Washington Post article.

She has a lot of nerve.
But this is how narcissists behave. They can’t take the loss and move on. Their egos just won’t let them.

Here’s what people online are saying:
“Does an argument of ‘free speech’ really apply, when you yourself are counter suing for defamation? Even if you discount that there is no 1st amendment right, allowing you to lie about another person. That not a protected view.”
“Who writes these foolish statements for her? She’s going to get sued again if she keeps this up”
“It is not a set back for other women, we believe women who are victims We just don’t support women who lie about it”
“He had HOURS OF VOICE RECORDINGS OF YOU VERBALLY ABUSING and LAUGHING at HIS PAIN? WHAT PILE OF EVIDENCE DID YOU HAVE ?!? The AUDACITY TO COME OUT with THIS BS is UNMATCHED.”
“You’re a disgrace to real DA victims. You’re a disgrace to women. You’re a disgrace to mankind. Go cry me a river”
“Freedom of speech does NOT mean you can literally lie about someone to turn yourself into the victim when in fact you were the abuser! Believe me, this is in fact a step forward – because we DO believe the real VICTIMS but NOT the LIARS! This empowers us!”
“I’ve never HEARD so much shite in all my life”
“why does she think she represents women? youre not a women, youre a psychopath!”
“The UK did not allow a lot of evidence, plus it was clearly biased cause you had connections on the inside. Also, this is what happens when you LIE through your teeth”
“The only thing that could possibly set back women is YOUR LIES!!”
“The audacity, there’s real victims of abuse suffering while you were out here playing pretend the last few years. The nerve on you to twist this loss into not taking violence against women seriously is utterly disgusting. “
“I hope he sues you again for posting this trash statement.”
Amber has to keep playing the victim if she has any hopes of ever working in Hollywood again, although I can’t imagine she has a lot of options left after this.
This just goes to show how dangerous and vindictive that #MeToo movement could be when it was used as a weapon by unscrupulous people.
And trust me, Amber wasn’t the only one who did this. I am sure there are A LOT more cases like this.
Amber’s the Jussie Smollett of white actors. She wanted to up her value and cash in on the #MeToo stuff.
Glad it backfired.
