REPORT: National Governors Association Announces Bipartisan Committee To Prevent Mass Shootings

Following the Texas school massacre, the National Governors Association announced on Friday that it will organize a bipartisan working committee to develop suggestions to prevent mass shootings. Given the country’s governors’ party division on how to address topics like gun control and school safety, reaching a compromise could be difficult. In a letter to the White House, Republican Gov. Asa Hutchinson of Arkansas and Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy of New Jersey said they would organize a group of six to ten governors to focus on school safety.
