CNN’s new owners have vowed to bring the notorious fake news network back to its non-partisan glory days when they actually reported the news and were not puppets for the progressive regime.
Because believe it or not, there was a time when CNN was considered a “serious news network.”
But their plan to overhaul the fake news giant and turn it back into reliable “news” isn’t catching on.
CNN’s ratings are actually getting worse.
So, what’s going wrong?
Well, to figure out what’s going wrong at CNN, you’ve got to go back a few years.
After the media spent the early part of 2015 and 2016 building up Trump for ratings, things got very real when Hillary lost, and Trump was now in charge…
Stage 5 TDS quickly swept through newsrooms all across the country and everyone’s professional reputations went down the drain.
Seriously, it was shocking to see the media’s reputation crumble like a stale cookie.
But suddenly, there was this “the end justifies the means” attitude that permeated throughout the mainstream media.
In their minds, President Trump was so dangerous that he had to be stopped, no matter the cost. It became a “righteous duty” for the press to stop America from accidentally killing herself…
That was their warped thought process, anyway. They all suffered from some bizarre, misguided “hero complex.”
Also, these otherwise humdrum/no-name reporters were now getting high off of the hero-worship status they amassed within the Trump resistance movement.
They were the men and women who were “saving the country” from the Great Orange Nazi…
It became like a drug, and they had to keep pushing harder and going more anti-Trump, in order to keep chasing that high.
And as a result of this misguided hysteria, many “resist characters” emerged — and most of them came from CNN, which was a proud leader in the movement to stop Trump.
Jim Acosta, Don Lemon, Brian Stelter, and others, all became the “faces” of the Trump resistance.
And now, here we are, years later, under new CNN’s leadership, and things are actually worse.
HGTV and The Food Network are beating CNN in the prime-time ratings.
During the day, TNT is beating them.

The New York Post reported that CNN’s new boss has brought even worse results.
Cable news giant CNN has seen its viewership fall in recent weeks under the helm of newly installed network president Chris Licht, according to the latest Nielsen ratings.
CNN’s viewership dipped during the month of June compared to the previous month — despite the network’s intensive coverage of the ongoing House committee hearings into the Jan. 6, 2021 riots at the US Capitol.
In June, CNN’s primetime lineup drew 654,000 total viewers on average per night. Of those viewers, just 148,000 are between the ages of 25 and 54 — the key demographic that is most coveted by advertisers.
The numbers represent a 1% drop compared to May, according to The Daily Beast.
CNN’s daytime lineup is also hemorrhaging viewers, the latest data shows.
The audience tuning in to the network shrank 3% month-over-month in June to 487,000 total viewers per day — as well as 2% to 104,000 viewers in the 25-54 demographic.
So, what gives?
Well, I’ll tell you what the problem is.
CNN has done A LOT of damage to the country, and many people are still spitting-mad about it.
New owners waltzing in and making a couple of changes here and there and “toning down” the messaging a bit won’t cut it…
Not after all the damage that CNN has caused… no way.
The first thing they need to do if they really want to shift gears and get back into the public’s good graces is apologize.
CNN needs to come out and acknowledge all the fake news and biased reporting they did and apologize to the American people for it.
They need to wipe the slate clean before they can move on.
This is one of those incidents where the brand was so badly damaged that it needs to be publicly acknowledged before any “rebuilding” can begin.
The second thing they must do is fire the “faces” of the anti-Trump resistance and bring in fresh blood, who haven’t smeared and mocked half the country.
If they do those two things, CNN has a good chance of making a comeback.
If they don’t, nobody will take them seriously and they’ll continue to crater.
