Many Are Suspicious About “Timing” of Elon’s Sudden Twitter Purchase, But One Conservative Lawyer Explains It All

In case you missed it, there’s been a huge “about-face” in the Twitter/Elon Musk drama. He suddenly decided to go through with the purchase of the social media company after Twitter took him to court for backing out of the deal. NPR reported that Elon Musk now wants to go through with his original offer to buy Twitter for the previously agreed-upon price, a source close to the deal tells NPR. The billionaire Tesla CEO sent a letter to Twitter Monday night, the person said, which could put an end to the knock-down, drag-out legal fight over the merger that he tried to abandon in July.

The news, first reported by Bloomberg, sent shares of the struggling social media company soaring 13% before the Nasdaq halted trading.

Musk had agreed to buy Twitter for $54.20 per share, or about $44 billion, in May, but then tried to back out of the deal after the company’s value sank, along with other tech stocks and the broader market.

Twitter sued to force Musk to abide by the deal. A trial is scheduled to begin in less than two weeks. It’s now up to the company to accept Musk’s renewed offer or force the billionaire to go to court in an effort to seal the deal.

Representatives for Musk and Twitter didn’t respond to requests for comment.

However, everything isn’t rosy on the MAGA side of town. Many people are very suspicious of Elon’s latest move and think there is something really “off” about his timing.

So, what’s going on?

Is Elon up to something?

No, probably not, says well-respected conservative attorney Will Chamberlin, who predicted this very outcome many months ago.

Here’s what Will said in a series of Tweets:

“I’m seeing some people say “the timing is suspicious” for Elon to decide to buy Twitter again It’s not suspicious at all He was about to be deposed, trial is in two weeks, and his lawyers were almost certainly telling him that he was going to lose”

Neither the law nor the facts were on Elon’s side, the judge was not happy with Elon’s lawyers and was consistently ruling in Twitter’s favor during discovery Elon was staring down the barrel of an expensive trial, with embarrassing depo/trial testimony

And with no realistic hope of winning If I were advising Elon I would have told him to take the L months ago, he’s deciding to take the L now because it really is his best option

Well, I think Will nailed it with his theory and his explanation. Most CEOs aren’t exactly thrilled to sit in the deposition chair. I am sure he has secrets he’d prefer to keep hidden.

Here’s what people online are saying:

“This would be an accurate time to use the phrase “The walls are closing in”

“No one teaches you how to be a corporate shark. Next time will be different I’m sure.”

“When I read that Elon’s tech guys said it was only 5.7% bots, I figured that was game over.”

“This could be a game changer for midterms and 2024. Imagine real news being allowed to flow freely?

“Nothing can be simple everything must be a conspiracy!”

“Delaware where all good cases go to get screwed based on the political affiliation of the judge. Kinda of like the fbi making sure it never ever investigates anything except their political opponents.”

“I always thought the thing was an attempt to renegotiate price and that he always intended to pick it up.”

“Fortunately him being “forced” to go through with the purchase is OUR best option.”

“I’m kinda surprised, I figured the whistleblowers had kinda won his case for him.”

“The establishment will not allow Elon to buy Twitter. It’s an important tool of theirs to shape public opinion, I expect sabotage somewhere soon”

“You can bet the house every Conservative account that was arbitrarily suspended will be invited back with an apology.”

“He’s gonna 10X on twitter after this recession. It’s the best social platform run by incompetent ideological buffoons. Wait till it’s run by the team Musk builds.”

“I think he can fix twitter and take it public again… if big tech doesn’t shut it down first.”

Well, what do you think?

Even if you don’t plan on using Twitter, taking a powerful weapon from the enemy is always a good thing.
