After initially remaining silent in the face of savage accusations from former President Donald J. Trump and MAGA followers, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has suddenly gone public with condemnation of the beleaguered Republican frontrunner, amid rumors that he is considering a run for president himself.

On Thursday, the Republican governor of Florida sat down with Piers Morgan for an in-depth interview that will air exclusively on Fox Nation's "Piers Morgan Uncensored," in which he hinted that he will soon make an announcement to run for president and that he has what it takes to topple authoritarian despot Joe Biden.

For months, the rising GOP rock star chose to stay out of the spotlight while Trump lobbed insults at him, including the names "Meatball Ron" and "Ron DeSanctimonious," and attacks in which he appeared to use Democratic Party talking points by suggesting that he would cut Social Security and praising Charlie Crist, the former Republican governor of Florida who jumped parties.

During his interview with Morgan, DeSantis was extremely critical of Trump's management style, citing the firing of Dr. Anthony Fauci as an example of how he would have handled the situation differently. Fauci was a major proponent of lockdowns, forced masking, and vaccine mandates, all of which contributed to one of the darkest periods in American history.

Several methods were used to deal with COVID, he stated. Personally, I would have dismissed Fauci. The governor reportedly said, "I think he became way too big for his britches and I think he did a lot of damage," as quoted in a New York Post editorial by Morgan about the upcoming televised interview.

Although he may have hung up his white coat as the longstanding head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) in December, the elfin career bureaucrat remains a frequent presence on television, and DeSantis has been a strong opponent of him.

I also think, just in terms of my approach to leadership, that I have people working for the government who have the agenda of the people and share our agenda," DeSantis said to Morgan. You can't push your personal agenda on me, so get out of here. Obviously, that won't fly with us. The way the government is operated, in my opinion, is without the everyday drama that tends to distract from the big picture and the accomplishment of tangible goals, and I believe this is crucial.

Morgan asked the governor which of the nicknames he liked most, and in a lighter moment that would have Trump fuming, he joked about them.

I can't even make up the word 'DeSanctimonious,' he joked. I have no idea what that signifies, but I find it intriguing. Quite lengthy. There are numerous vowels in it. Of course, that's the route we'd take. We have no problem with that. Anything you like to call me is fine with me. I don't care what you name me, as long as you do call me a winner.

Trump and his ardent supporters were outraged by DeSantis's comments about the legal predicament the former president is in, with vengeful Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg on the verge of indicting him on charges relating to a "hush money" payment to adult film "actor" Stormy Daniels.

For example: "And so, you're talking about this scenario with... and I don't know what goes into paying hush money to a porn star to secure silence over some kind of claimed affair. DeSantis responded to reporters' questions on the possibility of an indictment and arrest of President Trump with, "I just... I can't answer to that" on Monday.

Trump's legal troubles haven't stopped him from being the Republican frontrunner in what could be the most important presidential election in U.S. history next year.

A new poll from Morning Consult shows that Trump now has a 28-point lead over his closest competitor, Ron DeSantis. Trump leads DeSantis 54 percent to 26 percent, with Trump's former vice president Mike Pence trailing well behind in third with just 7 percent.

After hearing DeSantis' comments, Trump reacted angrily with another True Social blast, accusing him again of trying to make deep changes to Social Security and Medicare, charges that will almost surely show up in Democrat attack advertisements against DeSantis.

It's possible that young Vivek Ramaswamy would soon surpass Ron DeSanctimonious in the polls. More and more people are learning that Ron's goal all along was to abolish Social Security and increase the retirement age to at least 70. He also had and still has aggressive Medicare reduction ambitions. Following Super RINO Paul Ryan's teachings never ends well for his followers. However, Florida was successful long before DeSanctus, who received my "coveted" Endorsement, soared to the top, and triumphed. A furious Trump lashed out.

Already, the DeSantis interview has sent shockwaves across Trumpworld, with the former president's surrogates venting their anger at the wildly popular Florida governor on Twitter.

"Just as radical Dems are indicting Trump and ruining the fabric of our nation with their Police State techniques, DeSantis pathetically runs to the liberal media on orders from his RINO establishment owners to trash my father," Don Jr. tweeted. In other words, "He's outing himself as a completely controlled opponent!"

The true colors of Ron DeSantis have been shown. "An establishment Never Trumper who despises the MAGA base and was faking it the whole time," senior advisor Jason Miller stated.

My time is better spent doing things I enjoy than engaging in online arguments with strangers. For the folks I serve, it's not productive," DeSantis told Morgan. So, we just keep pounding out victories, day after day, because I can't be an effective Governor if I get embroiled in the shady dealings going on behind the scenes. For this reason, I can't say that I see the logic in it.
