Hamas Spokesperson Defiant: Ready to Face Potential Israeli Ground Invasion of Gaza Strip

On Monday, Abu Obeideh, the spokesperson for Hamas's military wing, expressed confidence in the face of the potential Israeli ground invasion of the blockaded Gaza Strip. He stated that they are not intimidated by this threat and are fully prepared to confront it.

During a televised statement, it was announced that Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades had taken 200 individuals hostage following a significant attack on Israel's southern region on October 7. Additionally, it was mentioned that approximately 50 individuals were being held by other resistance factions and in various locations.

Abu Obeideh expressed his lack of fear towards the potential ground offensive by the occupying force (Israel) and stated that they are prepared for it. This statement was made in anticipation of an Israeli invasion, which was expected to occur after more than a week of ongoing conflict.

According to Israeli officials, the violence that originated from the early morning Hamas attack has resulted in the tragic loss of over 1,400 lives in Israel.

Earlier on Monday, Daniel Hagari, an army spokesman, announced that Israel has successfully verified the identities of and informed the families of 199 individuals who were being held captive in Gaza. Abu Obeideh has stated that the release of foreign prisoners will occur when the conditions are suitable.

According to reports, it has been stated that a number of hostages, specifically 22 individuals from Israel, have unfortunately lost their lives as a result of Israeli air strikes targeting Gaza. According to Hamas officials, the number of casualties resulting from Israeli strikes on the Palestinian enclave has surpassed 2,750 since October 7.
