Following his acquittal in the three gunshots that took place during a demonstration in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Kyle Rittenhouse allegedly went bankrupt.

The criminal defense attorney for Rittenhouse, Mark Richards, made a statement stating that his client intends to publish a memoir detailing his life and the events leading up to the shooting deaths of Joseph Rosenbaum, 36, and Anthony Huber, 26. Rittenhouse also hurt 26-year-old Gaige Grosskreutz during the demonstration. According to Newsweek, Rittenhouse was found not guilty on all counts after he asserted his right to self-defense and presented his case as a criminal defense. He was found not guilty of first-degree intentional homicide, attempted first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree reckless homicide, and two counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety.

Upon its announcement on November 20, he described Acquitted as "a story of survival, resilience, and justice." But according to Richards, Rittenhouse is attempting to make ends meet, and he has spent all of the money he received from the case.

His goal is to provide for himself, thus he is working. Everyone assumes Kyle made a ton of money off of this. The little money he had disappeared, he told Court TV.

I don't like to use the word "paycheck to paycheck," but he is indeed living from one paycheck to the next. As his lawyer and someone I care about, it is my sincere wish that he returns to school. At this same moment, nevertheless, he is enjoying himself while working full-time and according to all applicable laws.

There was no financial gain for Kyle Rittenhouse as a result of his lawsuit. Rittenhouse earned $1,000 from an anonymous contributor through a GoFundMe campaign as of October 4, 2023, which is the only known financial transaction originating from the case.

According to rumors, Rittenhouse was suing the news organizations who covered the story for $100 million and the hosts of "The View" on ABC for $22 million, claiming they defamed her. But Rittenhouse's lawyer shot down the allegations. Claiming that the accusations were "not true," he also shot down reports that he had won a lawsuit against The View and earned a $22 million settlement. Neither the $22 million settlement nor the lawsuit that Rittenhouse brought against The View were located by Reuters.
