Tragic Discovery: Two Found Dead in 100-Degree Spartanburg House

On Saturday, two individuals were discovered deceased in a residence that Spartanburg police characterized as being excessively warm.

According to a report from the Spartanburg Police Department, officers were summoned to a residence on Woodview Avenue at approximately 6 p.m. on Saturday in response to concerns raised by family members. Officers and EMS successfully gained access to the residence and discovered two deceased individuals.

The victims have been identified as Joan Littlejohn, aged 84, and Glennwood Fowler, aged 82.

Based on the police report, the temperature inside the home exceeded 120 degrees. Firefighters discovered that the heater in the basement was emitting an intense amount of heat, reaching a temperature of over 1,000 degrees before they successfully disabled it.

The coroner's office is currently investigating the cause of death and expressing concern regarding the unusually high temperature.
