Chris Christie abandoned his presidential campaign in January, but he did not answer no when asked on Tuesday whether he would consider seeking the presidency without the Republican nomination.

The former governor of New Jersey said on ABC's Good Morning America, "I would have to see a road for anyone, not just me, but I believe anybody who would accept that would need to see a path to 270 electoral votes." According to the Hill, Christie has expressed disapproval towards the No Labels organization and has not shown interest in running on that ticket, if one exists. Although Christie has been dismissive of the endeavor, labeling it a "fool's errand" last summer, one of its founders has said that Christie would be a strong contender.

But on Tuesday, he stated: "If there was ever a moment in our lifetimes when a candidate from a third party might make a difference. It is probably now. But the real query is: "What type of difference?" Christie fiercely opposed Donald Trump during his time in the GOP primary, but that does not mean he would support the former president's lone opponent for the nomination, Nikki Haley.

The Republican said that he had moved over his "worst mistake" in politics, which was to back Trump in 2016. According to the Hill, he said, "Look, imagine the situation I would be in if I sponsored someone who then turned around and endorsed Donald Trump." "That position will not be mine again."
