The fate of the New York civil fraud trial against the former president of the United States remains uncertain, according to Trump's lawyer Alina Habba, who expressed her client's disappointment with the anticipated Friday ruling.

In an interview with Newsmax on Wednesday, Habba said, "I would submit the appeal now if I could." "No surprises are in store for you here. I will be booming and loud straight after the ruling." "I am not holding out much hope."

Accusing Trump of falsifying his net worth on financial records in order to get tax and insurance advantages for the many properties owned by the Trump Organization, New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) filed a lawsuit against the former president in 2022. While Trump has said there was no fraud, she has claimed there is proof of it.

Following two months of evidence from forty witnesses—including the former president, senior organization executives, Trump's adult children, and his former attorney—the trial came to a close in January.

Judge Arthur Engoron has already determined that Trump committed fraud in his real estate business, and individuals familiar with the case anticipate that he will decide on penalties on Friday. Apart from the monetary fine of $370 million, James has requested that Engoron permanently exclude Trump from the real estate industry in New York.

Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), among other Trump supporters, has claimed that James violated ethical laws while under prosecution and that Engoron is politically biased. Stefanik has brought legal action against each of the parties.

Habba said, "I have been on trial in New York for weeks on end, and the corruption goes deep." To be honest, the Trump insanity goes much beyond. They have blurry vision. They are unable to adapt the law to the facts.
