News of Killer Mike's arrest after his three-award triumph at the Grammys surfaced on Sunday. The arrest was the result of a fight between the rapper and a security officer over credentials, a source informed Billboard today.

After winning Rap Song of the Year, Rap Performance of the Year, and Rap Album of the Year, Killer Mike—real name Michael Santiago Render—allegedly left the Peacock Theater about one hour later.

When he came back with three others, security barred him from entering again and insisted on seeing his credentials. According to reports, he then shoved her. When LAPD police arrived on the scene, they put Render in handcuffs because the security guard intended to file charges against him. His release without bond after his accusation of one count of minor violence.

This disproves prior rumors that his arrest was due to a misdemeanor unconnected to any events at the Grammy Awards. Render called the event "a speed bump" earlier today on V103's Big Tigger Morning Show.
