In March, the Biden campaign raised an amazing $90 million, thanks in large part to a big event in New York City and another strong month of gifts from people all over the country.

At the end of the first quarter of 2024, the campaign had raised a total of $187 million. It now has $192 million in cash on hand, which the campaign said was the most ever for a Democratic candidate at this point in the election cycle. Officials say that 1.6 million people have given money to the effort so far.

It was more than what former President Trump's campaign raised in March, when it raised about $66 million. The Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee had $93.1 million in cash on hand at the end of March. They joined last month after Trump became the likely candidate.

Biden campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez said in a statement, "The money we are raising is historic, and it will go to the important work of building a winning operation, focused solely on the voters who will decide this election—offices across the country, staff in our battleground states, and a paid media program meeting voters where they are." "This is very different from Trump's operation, which is short on cash and using the few billions of dollars it has to pay his lawyers."

In March, small gifts broke the Biden campaign's record for the fifth month in a row, making it its best month for raising money from people at home to date.

Trump made $26 million in one night when he went to an event in New York City last week with former Presidents Obama and Clinton. It also raised $10 million in the 24 hours before the State of the Union speech in early March.

Because they have more cash, the campaign has been able to open more than 100 field offices across the country and start a $30 million ad campaign in key swing states.
