Authorities Continue Search for Suspected Shooter in Fatal McDonald's Shooting of Houston Attorney

According to authorities, the suspected shooter is still at large after killing a Houston attorney in a shooting at McDonald's. Jeffrey Limmer has been recognized by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences as the man who was slain on Saturday, May 4, at the Houston McDonald's. According to the website of the company, Limmer was a lawyer for Lewis Brisbois.

According to the Houston Police Department, a guy who left the scene in a blue pickup vehicle murdered Limmer, 46. KTRK said that Limmer was trying to soothe an irate client when the client grew agitated with the lawyer, citing investigators in the process.

The client pulled a revolver out of his vehicle and shot Limmer after Limmer shoved him to the ground outside the business, according to police reports, the site stated. Paramedics declared Limmer dead at the spot after he sustained several gunshot wounds, according to the police.

His sister said that Limmer has a reputation for lending a hand to others. "Jeff is the one who constantly says, 'Calm down,' knowing him. "Divert the situation and say it is not that big of a deal," Jennifer Thomas said to KTVR. "He is always wanted to fight for the little guy and do the right thing."

Thomas said to KTRK that her family was pleased with her brother for acting as a "good Samaritan" and defending the McDonald's workers.

Limmer attended South Texas College of Law for law school after earning his degree from the University of Texas in Austin, according to his biography on Lewis Brisbois' website. According to the website, he also liked being outside.

We are asking anybody with information on Limmer's murder to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS or the Homicide Division of the Houston Police Department at 713-308-3600.
