Police Raid Drake's Mansion After Drive-By Shooting: Security Guard Injured

Following reports from local media sites that a drive-by shooting early on Tuesday left a security guy gravely wounded, police stormed Drake's opulent Toronto residence. There was gunfire near the intersection of Bayview Avenue and Lawrence Avenue East on Tuesday around 2:10 in the morning, according to the police. According to USA Today, they reported that a guy was rushed to a hospital with significant injuries and that a suspect drove from the scene. At Drake's house on Park Lane Circle in the Bridle Path neighborhood—which is home to many multimillion-dollar homes—the CBC reports that there is "a heavy police presence." A security guard was wounded in the chest, according to sources who spoke with the site, and when police came, he was not aware.

The shooting's motivation is unclear. According to USA Today, rapper Kendrick Lamar, with whom Drake is presently embroiled in a highly publicized rivalry, used a Google Maps picture of Drake's property for his latest diss track, "Not Like Us," in which he implies the mansion is inhabited by sexual offenders. Lamar has charged Drake of hiring predators, having a hidden daughter, and abusing drugs. According to the Toronto Star, "there is no indication at this time to suggest the incident was connected with the feud," however. According to City News, the gunshot victim's wounds are not considered life-threatening. Since then, the guy has had surgery, according to the CBC. As of Tuesday morning, police had not issued any descriptions of any suspects or vehicles.
