Ansley Davenport, a security officer at Warren, Ohio's Trumbull Regional Medical Center, showed the genuine meaning of compassion by giving up his own shoes to a man in need in a touching gesture of generosity.

Davenport was working in the Emergency Department when he saw a guy who seemed to be having a lot of trouble with his feet.

"I observed a man. His feet ached. We were attempting to assist him, I believe, when he asked for something to drink. In an interview with WYTV, Davenport said, "I went and got him a bottle of water, and we started talking and he was in there for his feet."

Davenport went above and above the call of duty by offering more than just a bottle of water. He asked another guard to assist him determine the man's shoe size, and discovered that he was a size 12. Davenport took off his own size twelve shoes and gave them to the appreciative man without hesitation.

"Alright, I got a size 12 for you," Davenport responded. He said, "I took them off, gave them right to him, and I actually finished the rest of my shift in socks."

Davenport did not care that it was cold outside that day since the warmth he felt from his deed of charity outweighed any pain.

Davenport sat at the desk in his bare feet for forty-five minutes. He did not mind the cold that day as doing something kind like that makes you feel warm on the inside, according to the story.

Davenport's receiver was obviously surprised by his wonderful gesture, which came out of the blue. "He gave me a curious look and said, 'Huh?'" Davenport smiled as he remembered. "He was just surprised."

This altruistic deed serves as a reminder that kindness and understanding may have a big impact on someone is life, particularly under trying circumstances. Davenport emphasized the value of compassion and giving back, particularly in light of the unrest and hostility that are now prevalent.

In light of all that is happening on. There is a lot of awful going on, so Davenport said, "It is always a good idea to be kind, give to someone, and pay it forward."
