Fox News' Jesse Watters urged Florida's governor, Ron DeSantis, to respond to attacks from Trump with tougher rhetoric.

Reports indicate that DeSantis is thinking about running against Trump for the GOP nomination in 2024. After endorsing DeSantis for governor in 2018, Trump hit out at him frequently after he announced his candidacy in November. The ex-president thinks DeSantis ought to step aside.

Governor Ron DeSantis has been mocked by President Donald Trump, who has claimed that Florida's economy was thriving long before DeSantis took office.

Watters argued on Tuesday's episode of The Five on Fox News that DeSantis should attack the previous president.

'DeSantis is getting beat up,' he declared. When Trump first began to attack him as governor, I thought it was quite astute of him to remain silent. His pain is real. It looks like he's been injured. [Trump] is making him out to be this consultant-obsessed, moderate Republican who can't handle the pressure. In addition, Ron is keeping silent. If I were Ron, I'd start talking now because Trump is drawing blood every day, and by the time you're in a position to make an announcement, you'll be covered in it.

He was chastised, though, as Jessica Tarlov, his co-host, pointed out. A little resistance came from him. He admitted, "I have no background in paying off pornstars." He was then attacked for it. I mean, "What is he supposed to do?"

Watters responded, "Trump is laying a daily pummeling on this guy." How many more weeks or months do you think this can go on for? Ron needs to make a public statement, or else he will limp into this primary.
