According to Fox News, former president Donald Trump is suing his former attorney Michael Cohen for approximately $500,000,000.

According to Fox News, Trump's legal team filed the case on Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, alleging a violation of the attorney-client privilege.

According to reports, the lawsuit alleges that Cohen committed many fiduciary responsibility violations, unjust enrichment, contract violations, and conversion throughout his time working for and representing [Trump].

In addition to violating other conditions of his contract, Trump claims Cohen broke their partnership by "spreading falsehoods" about him that were "likely to be embarrassing or detrimental, and partook in other misconduct," according to Fox News.

In the lawsuit, it was claimed that Cohen spread false information about Trump "with malicious intent and to wholly self-serving ends" through a "myriad of public statements, including the publication of two books, a podcast series, and innumerable mainstream media appearances," according to the newspaper.

The lawsuit purportedly alleges that "such continuous and escalating improper conduct by [Cohen] has reached a proverbial crescendo and has left [Trump] with no alternative but to seek legal redress through this action," adding that damages are "expected to substantially exceed $500,000,000."

The lawsuit was filed shortly after Trump entered a not guilty plea to 34 charges of falsifying business records after prosecutors claimed he ordered his former lawyer, Michael Cohen, to pay Stormy Daniels, a former porn star, hush money before the 2016 presidential election.
