On Saturday, former Florida governor and 2016 Republican presidential nominee Jeb Bush said he thinks the indictment of Trump was politically motivated.

Because Bragg's predecessor declined to pursue the matter, Bush lamented in a Twitter post. "The U.S. Department of Justice declined to intervene. At first, Bragg denied interest in the case. This is not a question of justice, but rather of politics. Let the jury decide in this instance."

Last week, a grand jury in Manhattan decided to arrest former President Trump for his alleged involvement in a payment to Stormy Daniels in 2016.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and Georgia Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene are just two of several Republicans who have said this indictment is politically motivated. This investigation has been labeled a "witch hunt" by the 45th President of the United States.

Trump stated, "This is Political Persecution and Election Interference at the highest level in history." "The Radical Left Democrats — the enemy of the hard-working men and women of this Country — have been engaged in a Witch-Hunt to destroy the Make America Great Again movement ever since I stepped down the golden escalator at Trump Tower," Trump said.

Trump's arraignment is scheduled for the following Tuesday in New York.
