Kari Lake, a former Republican candidate for governor of Arizona, declared on Friday that Maricopa County is refusing to let her legal team examine the signatures on the ballots.
When the Arizona Supreme Court recently ordered that the lower court review whether Maricopa County implemented procedures for signature verification in 2022, Lake received a victory in her election dispute.
"BREAKING: Maricopa County Election Officials REFUSE To Allow @KariLake Legal Team To Inspect Ballot Signatures," Lake wrote on Twitter. "What are they hiding?"
In another tweet, she stated, "Maricopa County has proven what we all knew to be true: Ballot signatures DO NOT MATCH." "Unashamedly HIDING EVIDENCE from us are election officials. The smoking gun is this. They should be sorry because I'm not giving up, even if it means using the law to have them turn up evidence."
It is further ordered that the trial court be remanded in order to ascertain whether Maricopa County violated A.R.S. 16-550(A) and "whether Petitioner can prove her claim as alleged pursuant to A.R.S. 16-672 and establish that votes [were] affected 'in sufficient numbers to alter the outcome of the election,'" according to the order.
Lake continued by claiming that election officials are concealing evidence and that, if necessary, she will use the judicial system to obtain it from them.
Since losing to the current Democratic governor of Arizona, Katie Hobbs, Lake has challenged the election results in court, claiming that thousands of Republican voters were denied the right to vote on Election Day because voting machine malfunctions occurred in at least 60% of Maricopa County polling places. If necessary, Lake has pledged to appeal her election case all the way to the US Supreme Court.
