For the Democratic nomination in 2024, President Joe Biden will face Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

The younger Kennedy, who is also the son of the late presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, has come under fire for opposing COVID-19 lockdown measures and has long been an opponent of vaccinations in general.

CNN's Jake Tapper took a shot at Kennedy's announcement:

According to the Associated Press, Kennedy submitted his petition to the Federal Election Commission on Wednesday. Despite being a member of one of the most prominent political families among Democrats, his attempt to topple Biden is usually viewed as a long shot.

Early in March, RFK Jr. declared he was thinking about running. He added at the time, "I have overcome the toughest hurdle, that my wife has approved it.

His father ran for the Democratic nomination in 1968 but was slain by Sirhan Sirhan while out campaigning. He will follow in his father's footsteps.

Kennedy Jr. will challenge the president alongside Marianne Williamson, a proponent of self-improvement.
