Minutes before meeting with law enforcement in Manhattan to get his official indictment, Donald Trump took to Truth Social to send one final message to his fans before his case began.
Trump said in his message that his travel was "surreal" and that he would soon be detained.
"I'm going to the courthouse in Lower Manhattan. They're going to ARREST ME, it seems so OUT OF THIS WORLD. Unbelievable that this is taking on in America. MAGA!” The former president wrote while traveling to the Manhattan courthouse in a convoy of cars.
There were both pro- and anti-Trump protesters outside the courthouse as well as a deluge of media cameras. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), who was in the latter group, led a brief protest that was cut short by the boisterous crowd that was waiting for the former president.
Trump frequently used Truth Social on Tuesday to rant about everything from the venue of his anticipated trial to the district attorney who is prosecuting his case. In reaction to news that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg was preparing an indictment regarding alleged hush money payments the former president made in secret to adult film actress Stormy Daniels to conceal an alleged affair, Trump recently predicted he would be arrested.
