Will The NY Judge Be Biased Against President Trump?

Former President Donald Trump's attorney was questioned by CNN's Dana Bash about allegations of bias on the part of the arraignment judge.

The former president lashed out at Juan Merchan, the acting justice for the New York County Supreme Court who would preside over the former Trump's arraignment in the coming days. The Trump Organization's senior financial officer was previously sentenced to five months in the Rikers Island prison complex in New York City after the court presided over the criminal tax evasion and fraud case against the Trump Organization.

The judge who has been "assigned" to my With Hunt Matter, a "Case" in which NO ONE HAS EVER BEEN CHARGED, HATES ME, Trump claimed in a Truth Social post on Friday. "His name is Juan Manuel Marchan [sic], was hand selected by Bragg and the Prosecutors, and is the same person who railroaded" my 75-year-old former CFO, Allen Weisselberg, to accept a "plea" agreement (Plead GUILTY, even if you are not, 90 DAYS, fight us in Court, 10 years (life!) in prison. He violently treated my firms, which didn't "plead," and strong-armed Allen, which is against the law. APPEALING! ”

CNN's Bash enquired as to whether Joseph Tacopina, the former president's lawyer, would seek a replacement judge for the case. Tacopina supported Trump's charges of "political persecution" and stated that they will examine all legal options relating to the indictment.

Tacopina claimed that the man "would not have been indicted" if he had not been vying for the presidency.

Bash intervened, "But let's talk about the judge. Will you request a different judge in response to my inquiry concerning the judge? ”

He responded, "Well, as I just stated, we need to obtain the indictment before we can examine any legal options. I have absolutely no problems with this judge.

She added, "But your client does.

Tacopina then asserted that Trump "had a right" to be enraged about everything because the office of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has "politically persecuted" him. He claimed he "had no reason" to believe Merchan is biased and permit the proceedings to proceed.

To set up the arraignment, Bragg's office has been in touch with Trump's legal team. Tacopina has previously stated that the former president won't enter a plea of guilty or be detained during the arraignment.
