Armed And Dangerous! Convict Escapes Kentucky Department Of Corrections

This week, a prisoner in Kentucky managed to break out from his captors. The Fleming County Sheriff's Office has labelled convict Kyle Aaron Skaggs as "armed and dangerous."

According to the sheriff's Facebook post, Skaggs escaped from jail in Lexington and formerly resided in Flemingsburg. According to CBS station WKYT, quoting the Kentucky Department of Corrections, the convict departed from a home incarceration program at the Hope Centre, a shelter and community services group, on Monday.

Officials did not discuss the charges against Skaggs or the nature of his imprisonment.

If you know anything about Skaggs' location, please call the Fleming County Dispatch at (606) 845-2121 or the Kentucky State Police at (606) 782-4127 immediately, as the sheriff and state police need to know immediately.

The prison break by Skaggs is the latest in a string of recent breakouts by convicts in the states of Mississippi, Virginia, and Pennsylvania.

Corey Harrison, Casey Grayson, Jerry Raynes, and Dylan Arrington are four offenders who escaped from the Raymond Detention Centre in Jackson in April, with the alleged assistance of a friend who is now facing charges of aiding and abetting. Before his apprehension earlier this month, Harrison was the last of the Mississippi escapees. The search for him spanned many states. The bodies of Arrington and Grayson were discovered, and the ex-con was sought for questioning in the slaying of a pastor and carjacking that took place in Jackson.

Then, over the weekend, Philadelphia police reported that two convicts had escaped from a local jail by cutting a breach in the perimeter fence. Two of the convicts have been named: Nasir Grant and Ameen Hurst, who are both suspected in the shooting murders of four individuals. Inmates allegedly escaped from the Philadelphia Industrial Correctional Centre on Sunday night, but police said they did not find out about it until Monday afternoon.

Two prisoners escaped from a Virginia prison earlier this month, too. Last Thursday, Mexican authorities arrested Alder Marin-Sotelo on murder charges related to a North Carolina sheriff's deputy's death in 2022. Early on Monday morning, police in Virginia apprehended the second suspect, Bruce Callahan, on a university campus.
