Biden Makes HUGE Border Claim After Ending Title 42: We're Doing Much Better!

President Joe Biden stated on Tuesday that with the removal of Title 42, a measure used to deport migrants during the Trump administration, the border is doing "much better."

Prior to his discussions with Congressional leaders about the best ceiling, reporters questioned the president about the border issue.

"Much improved. You notice it, Biden said.

On Sunday, the president shared his hope.

He remarked, "Much better than you all expected," adding that he has no immediate intentions to go to the border.

The only other effect would be disruption, said Biden.

During his presidency, Biden has made one trip to the border. He stated that there were "more important things going on" and that he would not visit while in Arizona.

Following the lifting of Title 42 on Thursday, the Biden administration resumed implementing the immigration law known as Title 8. Title 8 gives the government the power to deport illegal immigrants "in a matter of days." Unauthorized border crossers risk a five-year ban on re-entering the country.

In the days preceding the termination of Title 42, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) documented a record-breaking number of daily interactions with migrants, apprehending more than 10,000 migrants for three consecutive days, according to Fox News. The Washington Post reports that the number has decreased to less than 5,000 per day.

According to official figures, the number of CBP interactions increased from 450,000 in 2020 to over 1.7 million in 2021 and over 2.7 million in FY 2022, setting new records for the administration. There will be more than 1.5 million encounters in FY 2023.

Title 42's Alejandro Mayorkas, the secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, issued a warning that the government anticipated a "surge in the number of encounters at our southern border." Prior to the conclusion of the Trump administration's strategy, videos showed lines of migrants waiting to reach the border.
