Former Wyoming Republican Rep. Liz Cheney launched a blistering commercial last week attacking former President Donald Trump that mainly recalls the events of the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol brawl. The commercial runs for one minute and features footage of the incident with narration by Cheney.
Cheney claims that Trump is the first U.S. president who has ever failed to ensure a peaceful transition of power. The election was a loss, and he knew it. By claiming the election was rigged, he lost the trust of millions of Americans. He disregarded scores of judicial decisions.
She says, "Rather than accept his defeat, he rallied a mob to come to Washington and march on the Capitol." Then he watched on TV as the crowd assaulted law enforcement, stormed the Capitol, and went on the quest for the Vice President.
Three hours went by and he still didn't order the crowd to go. Cheney argues that no president has ever been more negligent in their duties. Many people have tried to warn Trump that his January 6th plans are illegal, but he has ignored them. The terrorists who attacked our Capitol are heroes in his eyes, and he doesn't care.
