As per a report in The New York Times, the Federal Bureau of Investigation has revoked top-secret security clearances of three whistleblowers. The reason behind this move, as per the FBI's letter to Jim Jordan (the Chair of the House Judiciary Committee) is doubts over the whistleblowers' "allegiance to the United States." Interestingly, two of the agents - Marcus Allen and Stephen Friend - were scheduled to testify before the House Judiciary panel on Thursday, with respect to the militarization of the federal government.
The three agents had already been placed on administrative leave after they questioned how the FBI handled the case from January 6 and expressed their opinion that the bureau had been used as a weapon against conservatives. The agents took part in a select committee interview in February of last year, according to a Daily Mail article. According to the Daily Mail, the former agents notably voiced their worries regarding FBI leadership's directives that they concentrate on "domestic violent extremism" investigations and forego conventional investigative techniques in cases from the January 6 incident.
The agents claim that the FBI manipulated crime data on domestic terrorism to coincide with the Biden Administration's narrative, and Mr. Allen is set to present new evidence before the committee on Thursday.
As a result of Allen having "expressed sympathy for persons or organizations that advocate, threaten, or use force or violence," the FBI later lost his top-secret security clearance, according to the letter. Additionally, according to FBI agents, Allen sent an email including a link to a story that claimed "federal law enforcement had some degree of infiltration among the crowds gathered at the Capitol," which in Allen's opinion caused "serious concerns."

On Tuesday, the FBI also revoked top-secret security clearance for agent Steven Friend. Friend had declined to participate in a SWAT-style raid on a suspect from January 6 who was under investigation for a misdemeanour last summer. The bureau's 12-year veteran Mr. Friend excused his refusal to take part in the raid on August 24, 2022 by saying, "I have an oath to uphold the Constitution." I wish to be recognized as a conscientious objector because I have a moral issue.
Friend allegedly "espoused an alternative narrative about the events at the U.S. Capitol" by declining to participate in the raid, as stated in the letter.
When bureau investigators discovered that a third agent, Brett Gloss, had entered a restricted area of the Capitol on January 6, they terminated his security clearance two weeks prior. The letter stated that the FBI discovered Gloss to have given "false and/or misleading information" regarding what he witnessed on January 6 despite the fact that he has not been charged with a crime and seemed to be peacefully protesting outside the facility.
"Mr. Gloss's refusal to provide full, frank, and truthful answers to lawful questions of security officials in connection with a personnel security or trustworthiness determination should result in an adverse clearance action," according to the letter.
