Florida Governor Ron DeSantis hasn't even formally declared his bid for the presidency in 2024, but that didn't stop a Fox Business panel from giving him a harsh evaluation of his chances against other Republicans.
In recent months, the governor has campaigned across the nation, concentrating on early primary and caucus states in an effort to build support before his expected declaration this week. According to polls, he trails former President Donald Trump significantly.
Larry Kudlow, Mark Simone, and Pete Hegseth talked about how they thought DeSantis had fallen short on Monday's episode of Kudlow.
Kudlow stated, "I'm waiting for DeSantis to show me an agenda for economic growth. "This is going to be a vote of the wallet. A kitchen table vote will be held in this election. And the winner will be the one with a good, powerful, pro-growth, pro-prosperity platform.
Given that Disney is one of Florida's major employers and opposed the legislation DeSantis signed into law last year, Kudlow chastised DeSantis for his animosity toward the firm.
He continued, "It's all about assaulting a company called Disney in his state. He will not stop. Conservative proponents of the free market don't criticize companies. They do support businesses and jobs. He hasn't carried it out.
"Desantis inherited everything you love about Florida," Simone added. "The no state tax, everything like that. He has done a fantastic job of managing it. Most of that, though, was inherited. You see DeSantis turn Disney into the Third World War. What would he do with Putin, just think? This man is troubled. He would flourish in 2028. Await that time.
Hegseth interjected to criticize DeSantis for how he handled inquiries on Ukraine.
In reference to the governor's ambivalence on Russia's invasion of Ukraine, he remarked, "Part of DeSantis' rollout that was so poor was being on both sides of the Ukraine issue." 'It didn't happen on my watch and it wouldn't have happened,' Trump has spoken very clearly about it. I also don't want to launch any wars elsewhere. DeSantis initially took the traditional path before veering off in a different manner.
In essence, Simone claimed that DeSantis lacked interpersonal skills. He lacks the charisma or humour of Trump but has all the drama. That's his issue.
