House Freshman Drafts Proposal To Remove Impeachment Architect Adam Schiff After Durham Findings Released

U.S. Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) recently introduced a resolution to expel Congressman Adam Schiff (D-CA) from Congress. Luna's move comes just days after the conclusion of the Trump-Russia probe by White House Special Counsel John Durham, which found that the investigation had no justifiable basis. As Chair of the House Intelligence Committee, Schiff had repeatedly claimed that his panel had uncovered an “abundance” of evidence linking the Trump campaign with the Russian government.

The freshmen House represntative shared this Twitter post: “Knowingly using your position on House Intel to push a lie that ripped apart our country, cost taxpayers millions of dollars, and authorized spying on a US President and then proceeding to double down on the lie within days of the Durham report coming out makes you unfit for office,” wrote the Florida congresswoman in a tweet Wednesday. “Ethics should investigate.”

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy hinted at Adam Schiff's expulsion in light of the Durham report, saying, "It raises the question about Adam Schiff. Remember when Adam told the American public he had proof? Remember when he said he didn't know the whistleblower?" This comment came before the decision to expel Schiff.

During and after the Mueller Investigation, Schiff claimed to have proof of collusion between the Trump presidential campaign and the Russian government. He vaguely mentioned in a 2017 interview with Meet The Press that there was non-circumstantial evidence, making his allegations seem more credible.

In an interview with MSNBC earlier this week, the California congressman, who plans to run for Senator Diane Feinstein's seat when she retires in 2024, called the Durham report a "flawed" probe. Schiff declared, "This is an investigation that had a poor beginning, a flawed course of investigation, and a flawed course of conclusion.

Despite the Mueller and Durham reports clearing the Trump campaign, Schiff has insisted that there was proof of "collusion" and "obstruction" on the side of the Trump campaign.
