Ukrainian Government Refutes Moscow's Claim They Tried To Murder Vladimir Putin

The Ukrainian government has refuted Moscow's claims that it tried to murder Russian President Vladimir Putin in an early-morning drone strike on the Kremlin on Wednesday.

President Vladimir Zelensky said, "We don't attack Putin or Moscow, we fight on our territory, we're defending our villages and cities," during a news conference in Helsinki after a meeting with the presidents of Iceland, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. We don't have enough guns for this, you know.

According to Sergey Nikiforov, Zelensky's press secretary, "We have no information about the alleged night attacks." He said that his nation's priority was "liberating its own territory, not attacking other countries."

Mikhail Podolyak, a close friend of Zelensky, ascribed the drone strike to "the guerilla activities of local resistance forces." Also insistent was his claim that Ukraine was fighting "an exclusively defensive war and [did] not attack targets on the territory of the Russian Federation."

Two drones were used in the nighttime assault, and they were finally brought down above the Kremlin grounds using electronic warfare techniques, according to a statement issued by the Russian presidential office on Wednesday. Putin's home is apparently the target of the UAVs.

The Kremlin claimed that the incident was a "pre-planned terrorist act" and an attempt on Putin's life. It retained the right to take action in retaliation whenever it saw fit, using whatever methods.

Putin was not in the Kremlin at the time of the intrusion, according to Dmitry Peskov, Putin's press secretary. According to accounts, there were no injuries as a consequence of the event.

Russia has charged Kiev of arranging a number of high-profile crimes on Ukrainian soil, including the murder of journalist Darya Dugina in August of last year. The Ukrainian government disputes any responsibility for these occurrences. Even its supporters in Washington, according to Western media, think Kiev was culpable for the death of Dugina and criticized the Zelenksy administration for being careless.

Several Russian bordering regions with Ukraine, including Bryansk, Belgorod, and Kursk, have been repeatedly the target of drone and missile attacks from Kiev since the conflict began in February 2022. The attacks, which targeted residential areas and energy infrastructure, resulted in a number of civilian fatalities, many injuries, and property loss.
