Chris Christie, a Republican running for president, attacked the financial practices of front-runner Donald Trump's daughter and her husband and said they engaged in extensive fraud.

In a low-key event where he laid out his platform, the former governor of New Jersey declared his campaign on Tuesday in Manchester, New Hampshire. The former Trump fan, who has been critical of the former leader for some time, claimed that he "made us smaller by separating us even farther." He received a social media reprimand from Trump as a result.

Christie criticized Ivanka and Jared Kushner, who both worked as advisers in the Trump White House, during his statement. (Ivanka Kushner, now, it's true.)

Tuesday night, Alex Thompson, the national correspondent for Axios, tweeted a video of Christie's comments.

He continued, "Everyone, let me tell you something. The grift that results from this is amazing. Stunning describes it. When Jared and Ivanka Kushner leave the White House, the Saudis give them $2 billion afterwards. From the Saudis, two billion bucks. You believe there is some sort of investment brilliance behind it. Or do you believe it's because he sat close to the US president for four years, obtaining favours for the Saudis?

Despite opposition from the fund's experts, Kushner's business obtained a $2 billion investment six months after leaving the White House.

He said, "That's your money. He took your money and handed it to his family, so stop him now. That makes us what, do you know? a country with bananas. That is what it does to us.

Christie was the first hopeful to withdraw from the race and support Trump in 2016. Despite this, the former governor was not allowed to work for Trump.

When Christie served as U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey, he handled the prosecution of Kushner's father, Charles, who pled guilty in 2005 to "18 charges of tax fraud, witness tampering, and making unlawful campaign payments."

Long after serving his prison term, in 2020, Trump released the older Kushner.
