Former Special Counsel John Durham is expected to testify before the House Judiciary Committee this Wednesday. Just weeks ago, Durham released a report claiming that the Trump-Russia investigation was illegitimate, and that the Justice Department and FBI were wrong to launch it.
Durham's upcoming public testimony follows his earlier behind-closed-doors testimony before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence yesterday afternoon.
Both Democrats and Republicans on the Judiciary Committee will have an opportunity to publicly question Durham. His report verifies Republican accusations that the government was guilty of abusing public trust when it rapidly investigated then-President Trump. Durham's report revealed that both the Justice Department and FBI neglected their responsibility to uphold the law by initiating the probe.
