A spokesperson for Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg confirmed that he is taking Elon Musk's challenge to a cage match seriously. Musk is the owner of Twitter and a fellow billionaire.
Musk wrote, "I'm sure Earth can't wait to be exclusively under Zuck's thumb with no other options," in response to reports that Zuckerberg's Meta was preparing to launch a Twitter competitor. It will at least be "sane." For a brief moment, I was concerned.
Musk then said, "I'm up for a cage match if he is lol," after learning that Zuckerberg was a Jiu-Jitsu practitioner.
On Wednesday, Zuckerberg responded to Musk by accepting a catch match and adding the comment, "Send me location."
The ball is now in Musk's court, according to The Verge deputy editor Alex Heath, who also cited a Meta representative who said, "The story speaks for itself." Heath confirmed that Zuckerberg's Instagram post was not a joke.
