DeSantis: National Primary Polls Irrelevant! Celebrating Success in Early States with 'Mamas Movement'

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis addressed a media narrative suggesting his campaign's faltering start, highlighting recent fundraising accomplishments and other early-stage primary highlights in an interview with Maria Bartiromo, host of Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures."

This is a narrative. I'm not the nominee because the media wants me to be," he claimed. "I believe that is crystal clear. Why? I'll beat Biden, so they know that. But more importantly, they are confident that I will follow through on all of these promises. We'll put an end to border invasions, go after drug cartels, reduce the size of the administrative state, and rein in spending. They don't want anything done, so we'll do it all for them.

DeSantis argued that national primary polls are essentially useless since the primary process is not national, but spans several months. He acknowledged the state-by-state nature of the process, emphasizing their success in early states like Iowa where they launched the "Mamas Movement" with the support of Governor Kim Reynolds.

DeSantis recognizes the importance of women, especially mothers, as a key focus of his campaign. He believes they will serve as a significant force, acting as "the secret weapon" in both the primary and general elections.

No one has been a better ally to those people than me, he declared. "And I just want to add that, you know, my re-election in Florida was the biggest victory that any Republican governor candidate in the history of the state had, and yet a few months before the election, I had media reporting that somehow my re-election campaign was stalling, that we weren't doing anything. We are thus taking the necessary steps to succeed.

By the way, I have exciting news to share! Last week, we broke records by raising an impressive $150 million. And the best part? We haven't even used up that money yet. We still have a long way to go, but I couldn't be more thrilled.

While I eagerly anticipate participating in the upcoming debates, winning this race is not something I expect to happen overnight. It requires hard work, dedication, and perseverance. We will pour our hearts, tears, and sweat into this campaign.
