The guests featured on the latest episode of Kudlow expressed their lack of enthusiasm for the presidential campaign of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who trails behind front-runner Donald Trump in the GOP primary polls.

Larry Kudlow, the host, questioned Mark Simone of a radio talk show if DeSantis would soon withdraw.

Regarding the unlikely candidate, Kudlow said, "I mean, Vivek Ramaswamy is now at 10%." Desantis is getting closer to him. DeSantis continues to drop. Will DeSantis be of a different race?

While admiring DeSantis, Simone stated that the timing of his campaign is unfortunate.

Simone said, "Listen, we like the guy. We need to conduct an intervention. We must inform him that he is 44 years old. Way too early, you. Wait until you're in your 50s and then take the initiative. He lacks the campaigning skills. He is discussing launch failure. He simply is sinking.

Kellyanne Conway, a Fox contributor, expressed similar opinions.

“Look, I’ve been long on the record that he should have waited to run – not just because of his age [but ] because he’s got a really big job he just got reelected to do of governor of our third-largest state,” she said. Reelected with a 20 point margin. He is under a lot of media pressure to leave. Run the other way when the mainstream media predicts which Republican will win.

Conway continued, "I think DeSantis is kind of ruining himself for 2028."

The governor hasn't yet mounted the kind of nationwide campaign he needs to have a chance at winning the nomination, according to Fox contributor Katie Pavlich.

When running against Joe Biden, she said, "even though the policies he put in place as governor of Florida could definitely be advantageous to the country, he has to start over and sell himself as a national candidate when he really is still at the state level." Therefore, President Trump has the advantage of doing this again and having all the necessary infrastructure and pre-planning in place to have a different strategy than in 2020 in states like Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin. However, as you may be aware, DeSantis is starting from scratch.

DeSantis' campaign has come under fire from Kudlow, who questioned the effectiveness of the governor's overemphasis on "wokeness" at the expense of "pocketbook issues."

He told viewers in May: "And in short, I think Mr. DeSantis' messaging is completely off-key." He is making the wrong noise. He's becoming mired down in things that are counterproductive.
