According to several reports, Hassan Haskins, a running back for the Tennessee Titans, was detained and charged with felony aggravated assault by strangulation on Thursday following an alleged incident with his girlfriend on June 22.
Haskins, a second-year running back, and his girlfriend, Makiah Green, allegedly had an argument on June 22 after Haskins noticed that Green had "liked" another man's Instagram photo, according to ESPN, citing a police report.
Haskins allegedly asked Green to stop throwing his shoes on the ground after she started doing so.
Green allegedly refused Haskins' request to stop, so he pushed her to the floor, threw her on the bed, and strangled her with both hands.
The Tennessean reports that Green provided police with pictures of scratches on the side of her neck, as well as bruises on her right arm and cheek.
According to numerous outlets, the two slapped each other as the altercation went on.
The Tennessean claimed that Green threatened to slash Haskins' car's tires during the argument but relented when he allegedly cocked a gun.
There was allegedly more violence on Thursday as a result of a second incident.
Green reportedly threw a glass at Haskins after he allegedly left her at a restaurant, forcing her to take an Uber home, before hiding in a bedroom, according to ESPN.
Green allegedly tore a $5,000 chain off Haskins' neck after he allegedly broke down the bedroom door.
According to ESPN, after seeing pictures of naked women on Haskins' phone, Green allegedly grabbed Haskins' phone and broke it.
The Tennessean reports that Haskins claims Green also hit him with a broom and broke his PlayStation 5.
According to ESPN, Haskins was detained on Thursday in Davidson County, Tennessee, but was later released after posting a $10,000 bond.
According to numerous outlets, Green was also detained and charged with aggravated assault by strangulation and felony vandalism after posting a $7,500 bond.
On July 10, Haskins and Green are both expected in court.
