According to Mr. Kirby, it is important to note that the full amount of $6 billion has not been utilized since its transfer to the Qatar bank from South Korea. This transfer was made as part of a larger agreement that resulted in the release of five American hostages who were being held in Iran.
The reporters repeatedly asked Mr. Kirby about whether the U.S. has blocked Iran's access to the funds or if Iran has chosen not to access them. However, Mr. Kirby declined to provide an answer to this question.

Mr. Kirby declined to discuss diplomatic conversations, refraining from providing any specific details or insights on the matter. Every penny of the money mentioned is currently held in a Qatari bank. None of it has been spent, not even a single dime.

Iran's involvement in supporting Hamas, a prominent Palestinian militant group, has been widely acknowledged. Various news sources, such as the Wall Street Journal, have reported on Tehran's alleged participation in planning the Hamas attack. The reporting suggesting a connection between Iran and the terror attack has been disputed by U.S. officials. According to them, the intelligence gathered thus far has not revealed any direct links to Iran.

Critics from both the Democratic and Republican parties have made allegations suggesting that the $6 billion provided to Iran has potentially allowed them to allocate their resources differently, potentially supporting acts of terrorism, such as the recent Hamas attack on Israel.
According to various media sources, Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo reportedly informed House Democrats that Iran's access to the funds would be terminated.

According to Mr. Kriby, it is important to note that the administration's critics are mistaken in their concerns. This is because Iran's utilization of the funds would be subjected to rigorous oversight measures. The user mentioned that the individual in question did not offer any specific information regarding the methods or procedures that would be employed to oversee the funds.
