According to an excerpt released on Tuesday, Britney Spears reveals in her highly anticipated new memoir that she underwent an abortion more than twenty years ago while she was in a relationship with Justin Timberlake.

In "The Woman in Me," a book set to be released on October 24, the 41-year-old pop star reveals various aspects of her life, including her experience with a contentious conservatorship that deprived her of autonomy over her personal life and finances for a period of 14 years.

In an excerpt published by People magazine on Tuesday, she expresses her reluctance towards the abortion, stating that she would not have chosen to go through with it if the decision had been solely hers.

Despite Justin's certainty that he did not desire to become a father, he remained resolute in his decision.

Spears recounts her initial encounter with Timberlake in her book, where she details their shared experience as young performers on Disney's Mickey Mouse Club.

In their late teens, they embarked on a romantic relationship, eventually becoming one of the most prominent couples in the entertainment industry. However, their relationship came to an end in 2002.

In the memoir, it is stated that Timberlake expressed his discontentment regarding the pregnancy.

In her written account, she expresses that he conveyed the belief that they were not prepared to embrace the responsibilities of parenthood, citing their youthful age as a significant factor.

The individual includes the statement, "To this day, it remains one of the most excruciating occurrences I have ever encountered in my life."

Timberlake, who is currently 42 years old and married to actor Jessica Biel, has not yet provided a response to the request for comment made by his representatives.

After her separation from Timberlake, Britney Spears went on to have two sons named Sean and Jayden with her second husband, Kevin Federline.

In 2008, following a widely publicized breakdown, Britney Spears was placed under a distinctive legal guardianship that was primarily overseen by her father, Jamie.

In 2021, during a court appearance, the individual expressed to the judge that the conservatorship was impeding her ability to have control over her reproductive choices. Specifically, she mentioned that she was unable to remove a contraceptive intrauterine device (IUD), despite her desire to conceive a child.

In another excerpt, Spears expresses that the conservatorship has had a profound impact on her sense of womanhood, causing her to feel as though she has been reduced to a child.

In addition, the author reflects on her past experiences, specifically regarding her father and his colleagues exerting authority over her physical well-being and financial matters for an extended period of time. This recollection evokes a profound sense of discomfort within her.

In November 2021, the practice of guardianship was eliminated. In 2022, Britney Spears experienced a pregnancy, however, she later revealed that she had unfortunately experienced a miscarriage. In August, it was announced that the couple, consisting of her and her third husband, Sam Asghari, had made the decision to file for divorce.
