When one finds themselves traveling on the road:

  1. It is important to maintain a consistent practice of locking your doors and rolling up your windows, even if the weather is hot and you do not have air conditioning. This precaution should be taken regardless of the short distance you are traveling or the perceived safety of the neighborhood.
  2. Driving in the center lane can be a strategic choice to minimize the risk of potential carjackers approaching your vehicle.
  3. It is advisable to refrain from driving alone. It is highly recommended to travel with a companion whenever feasible, particularly during nighttime hours.
  4. When approaching a stop, it is important to ensure that there is sufficient space to navigate around other vehicles, particularly in situations where potential issues may arise and a quick escape may be necessary.
  5. It is important to always drive with the doors locked for enhanced safety and security. Having a vehicle that is secure and difficult for thieves to break into greatly increases the likelihood of successfully retaining possession of it.
  6. It is advised to refrain from stopping to assist a stranger whose car has broken down. One way to offer assistance is by promptly driving to the nearest phone or utilizing your cell phone to contact the police for help.
