Tragic Fire Claims Lives of Five Children During Christmas Shopping Trip

On Saturday, while a man from Arizona went shopping for Christmas, the unimaginable happened: Five children inside his duplex in Bullhead City, Arizona, perished when a fire broke out.

The guy was the father of four siblings—two boys and a girl, aged two, five, and thirteen—who perished in the fire. According to AZCentral, the fifth youngster, an 11-year-old boy, was a visiting relative. According to USA Today, there were no adults in the house at the time, and no one survived. The identity of the individuals are unknown.

The father reported to the authorities that he went grocery shopping and bought Christmas gifts for around 2.5 hours.

Authorities believe the fire started in the downstairs foyer and spread up the single set of stairs within the house, trapping the youngsters inside their upstairs bedroom. The exact cause of the fire is yet unknown.

The primary fire was put out nine minutes after the first 911 call at 4:54 p.m., despite the neighbors' desperate attempts to assist by assembling hoses, smashing windows, and leaning an extension ladder against the home to access the second level. However, it was already too late.

"There are many guys out here who would have gone into that fire if we would have known there was children," claims a neighbor, adding that they did not see or hear anything coming from inside the house. The parents of the children—Nicki, Nicole, Marcie, John, Lydia, and Brian—are the beneficiaries of a GoFundMe campaign that is raising money for them.
