In a statement posted on Truth Social, former President Donald Trump asserted that he does not identify as an Insurrectionist. He specifically referred to his remarks made on January 6, during which he urged his supporters to engage in a peaceful and patriotic march towards the Capitol.

In a consistent pattern, former President Trump has made the claim that President Biden is an insurrectionist and poses a threat to democracy. This accusation follows a trend in which Trump tends to accuse his opponents and critics of engaging in the same behavior he himself is accused of.

The Colorado Supreme Court issued a ruling on Tuesday, with a 4-3 decision, stating that Donald Trump was involved in an act of insurrection. This conclusion was reached based on the court's determination that Trump had made false claims about election fraud, which in turn incited his supporters and led them to storm the Capitol. As a result, the court argued that Trump's actions fell under the "insurrection clause" of the 14th Amendment, effectively preventing him from serving a second term in the White House.
