Tragic Loss: 9-Year-Old Boy Fatally Struck While Retrieving Football Under School Bus

The death of a 9-year-old Orlando kid who was attempting to rescue a football from under an Orange County school bus has left his neighborhood in grief. A cancer survivor named Elyas Amyr Marshall-Rodriguez aspired to play professional sports, according to Fox 35.   A large number of community people gathered for a vigil in honor of Elyas Marshall-Rodriguez on Wednesday night. 

More than a hundred individuals gathered yesterday night, including his football squad and classmates, as stated in the newspaper. According to Richard Rodriguez, who was the nephew of Marshall-Rodriguez, "I loved my nephew.". I had a soft spot in my heart for my nephew. We accomplished everything together.

The boy's relatives spoke highly of him, saying he was a warrior who had overcome childhood illness and was now in remission. "For this to happen, after all he had been through in his life," Trenae Gayle, who was Marshall-Rodriguez's cousin, revealed. Nothing we do can alleviate the pain she is experiencing. This suffering will follow her long after the mourners and cameras have gone. Her only child and her newborn. 

Zuleyma Cleaussell, an apartment dweller, said, "I was walking by, and I just started to cry because I can't imagine what they're going through."

To help pay for the child's funeral, his family has also set up a GoFundMe page. In addition to family members, business owners have spoken out about what happened and called for the community to rally behind the family's 

In the midst of this terrible tragedy, I urge the local businesses to rally together in support of this family. "Now is the time to support this community and give back to them just as they have helped us," said Lydia Marouf, owner of Layalina Hookah Lounge. "Before we are business owners, we are moms, dads, children, and sons,” she added. our tragedy has affected everyone in our town, and my sincerest sympathies are with the victims' loved ones and friends.
