Prosecutors in the Georgia case involving Donald Trump may have to face fresh allegations of wrongdoing in court. The court has given Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis until February 2 to answer in writing, and according to the Washington Post, he has also set a hearing on February 15.

Early this month, she ran into difficulties when one of her co-defendants in the Trump case claimed that she had hired a romantic partner to handle the election meddling case and had financially profited from it. Coincidentally, Trump's co-defendant Mike Roman revealed in his petition that special prosecutor Nathan Wade had earned over $600,000 from the case so far, and that Wade had used funds from his law company to fund extravagant excursions with Willis.

The accusations have not been refuted by Willis outright, but she has implied that they were driven by prejudice. Wade and her are both Black. Even though Roman failed to provide any proof in his first petition, his lawyer has said that the accusations are based on information from Wade's current divorce case and those aware with their connection with Willis.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, a hearing about the possibility of unsealing Wade's divorce documents is set to take place on January 31st. In light of the incident, both Roman and Trump have demanded the dismissal of the charges against them. At the same time, legal experts consulted by The Hill do not believe that, even if the claims are genuine, Willis should still remain in the case.
