Republican congressman Chip Roy (TX) recently criticized lawmakers for their inaction on the southern border crisis and laid the responsibility for the fentanyl overdose fatalities at the feet of Democrats. Before voting to temporarily postpone a government shutdown until March, the legislator delivered an emotional address on Thursday on the House floor. Measure approved.

In his speech, Obama expressed the growing frustration of the American people with their officials' inability to adequately represent their interests. 'Wow,' no one in our nation thinks when they see Congress. What an incredible task, everyone. Excellent work. Why would somebody do that? Are we all in? It is irrelevant, by the way, who has the majority or who is speaking. The same foolish things keep happening to us.

After that, Roy went after the Democrats on the issue of the border, specifically the question of how much fentanyl is being smuggled into the country.

Wide open borders threaten the people I serve, yet my colleagues on the other side of the aisle don't seem to mind. Not a soul. Unfortunately, my people are now footing the bill. Whoever ends up spending $12.5 billion is the Texan people. Kids in my community are ill and dying as a result of fentanyl poisoning.

After that, he shifted his attention to the Democratic side and said, "Yeah, it's not fun to scoff at that when we're talking about dead children from fentanyl poisoning because of wide-open borders because of the policies of my democratic colleagues who refuse to do anything about it!"

From across the aisle, mutterings could be made out as he talked. A state of perfect order will prevail, the chair said. "The Chair will hear the gentleman's remarks." He addressed the Chair directly, "Well, Madam Speaker," which caused a Democrat to yell out. Again, the Chair assured the House that everything would be in order. According to Roy, Democrats are responsible for "the blood of the people in Texas." This statement was his last statement.
