After a court jury in New York sentenced him to pay $83.3 million to E. Jean Carroll for defamation, the former president Donald Trump went on a rage on Truth Social.

A jury, on Friday night found the Republican front-runner responsible for $83.3 million in damages. A jury last year awarded Carroll $5 million in damages after finding Trump guilty of sexually abusing her at a department shop in the 1990s.

Carroll received punitive penalties of $65 million, $11 million for reputational rehabilitation, and $7.3 million in compensatory damages. In the years before the defamation action, Trump attacked Carroll personally and disputed the accusations of sexual assault on several occasions.

Following the ruling, Trump, who was not present in the courtroom when it was announced, lost it on Truth Social, threatening to challenge the jury's finding and claiming that the case had been authorized by President Joe Biden.

Ridiculously absurd! I vehemently disagree with both rulings and intend to file an appeal against the whole Biden-directed witch hunt that has targeted the Republican Party and myself. The former president said to his internet supporters, "Our legal system is out of control and being utilized as a Political Weapon."

"Every First Amendment right has been stripped away by them. Trump went on, "THIS IS NOT AMERICA."

The former president has other legal matters to deal with, including the slander action. For a range of offenses, including his handling of secret data and his efforts to rig the 2020 presidential election, Trump was criminally charged four times in four different countries last year.
