In order to assist Governor Greg Abbott in fending off a perceived "invasion" at the southern border, former President Donald Trump urged states controlled by Republicans to dispatch National Guard members to Texas.

In an evening message on Truth Social, the front-runner for the Republican nomination said that President Joe Biden was "aiding and abetting a vast invasion of millions of illegal migrants."

The Biden administration and Texas are at odds over the installation of razor wire along the southern border to prevent migrants from entering the country. Razor wire, according to border officers, makes it more difficult for them to properly detain unlawful migrants.

"We have the most secure border in history," Trump wrote to his supporters on Truth Social. Joe Biden has given up control of our border and is encouraging a vast influx of millions of undocumented migrants into the country. Biden is fiercely working to bind the hands of Governor Abbott and the State of Texas so that the invasion proceeds unchecked, rather than fighting to defend our country from this attack.

"Texas has rightfully invoked the Invasion Clause of the Constitution in light of this National Security, Public Safety, and Public Health Catastrophe, and must be given full assistance to oppose the Invasion," he said.

In order to stop further migrants from crossing the border, Trump called on states to send out National Guard troops at the conclusion of his speech, saying, "We urge all willing States to deploy their guards to Texas to prevent the entrance of Illegals, and to deport them back across the Border." In order to safeguard Texas's safety, security, and sovereignty as well as the safety of the American people, all citizens of the United States should back the sensible actions taken by Texas authorities. On Day One as President, I would collaborate with Governor Abbott and other border states to stop the invasion, seal the border, and swiftly launch the largest domestic deportation operation in history, rather than battling Texas. The people who Biden let inside should not settle in since they will be leaving."

The state's National Guard placed razor wire, and the Supreme Court said earlier this week that Border Patrol may take it down. Abbott, meanwhile, has responded by giving the order for military to erect additional barriers along the border.
